How to Fix “There was an error saving your contact. Please try again” Error
Most times, this problem occurs if you or your subscribers tries to signup with an invalid or nonexistent or incorrect email address.
If the above doesn’t solve the problem, ensure you’ve connected MailOptin with your email marketing provider (eg. MailChimp) by following the guides in our Integrations Library.
In the optin form builder, go to the Integration section and select your connected ESP as well as the email list to add leads to.
Using MailChimp?
If you are using MailChimp as your email marketing software to save captured leads, ensure you only the email field is checked or marked as required.
Using MailPoet?
If you are using MailPoet as your email service provider where captured leads are saved to, ensure you do not have a custom fields in any of your MailPoet forms set to required or mandatory.
Below is a screenshot of a field in MailPoet form that is required. Don’t make any field required please.
Also, when the subcriber first and last name field tag do not correspond with what is in your email marketing software, it can cause this problem.
